Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa – English Student Association (ESA) English Language Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Khairun University held a Force League under the name PELITA (Literacy and Talent Week) 2022 on November 16-19, 2022 offline.
With a casual theme, this event carries the concept of “Talent Expression to Become an Inspirational, Characterful, and Millennial Generation.
Some of the PELITA competitions include rank 1, poetry reading, monologue, spelling bee, Unkhair idol, and solo dancing. The head of the PELITA committee, Ais Umafagur, revealed that this event aims to find superior seeds for students throughout Ternate City, especially English language education students themselves because by holding this event, students can develop their interests and talents in academic or non-academic fields.
“The participants of this activity are students from universities throughout Ternate City, although the activities are carried out during the midterm exams the enthusiasm of the participants is very good,”. Ais Umafagur added that this activity is important to do because, during hybrid learning like today, students can channel their hobbies and talents in their respective fields.”
Through this activity, hopefully, it can make students channel their hobbies and talents, as well as get to know each other, interact and communicate with each other so that togetherness is established between students from other Faculties and universities,” he said.
“More or less following the intended results because PELITA is an annual event of the English Language Education Study Program. So every year updates start from the concept of competition eye events and others. So there may be some competitions that must exist because the competition is very influential in academic learning in English but must be abolished because there are very few enthusiasts to register. This activity is also expected to be one to accommodate and develop the interests and talents of Khairun university students as well as other universities and this can be one of the stepping stones so that English students and other participants become more solidarity and compact,” continued Ais.
ESA also embraces several big days in it such as Language Month, Youth Pledge, and Heroes’ Day at this event.
